Traditional Midi DIY Wood Fired Oven

Absolutely not! Most of the wood-fired ovens that we sell are DIY kits – and most of our customers have no previous wood-fired oven building experience.

The assembly instructions are easy to follow and include lots of quick- reference pictures for the visual learners among us!

The heaviest part of the wood fired oven DIY kit is the dome. The domes are heavy, but they need to be to create the thermal mass that is required to retain the heat in the oven.

• Courtyard dome – 120kgs


• Midi dome – 140kgs


• Original dome – 200kgs

Yes, it’s heavy – but it needs to be in order to create the thermal mass that is required to retain the heat in your oven.

An Alfresco Factory wood fired oven DIY kit should take around 6 hours all up to build from go to woah (including render drying time).  This can be done all in one day, or if you are building your Alfresco Factory wood fired oven kit on a weekend, you may like to get your oven to rendering stage on Saturday and apply the 2 render coats on Sunday.

Of course we do!  Most of our customers choose to build a permanent stand made from brick or building blocks. We always recommend that you then build your DIY kit on a concrete benchtop or slab. You can either pour your own slab or a slab can be purchased from The Alfresco Factory.
